STEP 1: Take action!

STEP 2: Join us!

STEP 3: Share!

Who?

You!

When?

At the beginning of every scientific talk you give.

What?

Add two slides on climate change to your talk.

Why?

Climate change is real. We, as scientists, need to become experts on climate change and pass on our expertise to society. We should be role models in understanding, reflecting, teaching, and informing ourselves and others.

How?

Together we are stronger, join us! Become a 2slides4future activist. Open your next scientific talk with our master slide and take action against climate change by raising awareness and making your voice heard.

The next steps:

Share and spread the 2slides4future idea!

  • Register your 2slides4future talk

  • Share the 2slides4future’s social posts on your social networks, with your colleagues, and fellow scientists

  • Share your 2slides4future action in your work environment and on social media

Inspire others.
Make an impact.

    About US

In March 2019, Prof. Hans Joachim Schellnhuber, director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, shocked and inspired us with his eye-opening talk on climate change during a scientific conference in Berlin, Germany. His words deeply impressed upon us that the time to take an active stand for positive climate action is now. Climate change is real and the ensuing risk to humanity due to global warming is unprecedented. We, as scientists, need to do everything we possibly can to bring about positive change. We believe it is our duty to become experts on climate change and pass on our expertise to society. We should be role models in understanding, reflecting, teaching, and informing ourselves and others. The idea to raise awareness and promote information on climate change using our biggest lever- education- was born right after Prof. Schellnhuber’s talk. The campaign was launched on May 7th 2019. Right now, there is still a little time. Right now, we are able to help shape the outcome rather than having to react to an inevitable conclusion. If we sit on our hands for the next two decades, we won’t be worried about issues related to short-term convenience and consumption. We’ll be worried about the stability of everything we know. Or as Professor Johan Rockström, executive director of the Stockholm Resilience Centre and Chair of the Earth League, put it: “There is no room for complacency. Climate change is here. It is dangerous. And it is about to get much worse.”
